17th century England & New England
I discovered a well written blog about two of my ancestors who were historical figures, William & Mary Dyer. The blog's author is an actual published author named Christy K. Robinson, who is descended from another of William and Mary's children. Christy is currently researching and writing a historical novel on Mary Barrett Dyer, 1611-1660.
Her blog about the Dyers was begun in August 2011 and so far has seven entries, all fascinating! If you have any interest in England or America during the 1600s, you will want to check out this blog.

Thank you for the recommendation, Karen. I only started the Dyer blog a week ago. I have another history/ancestry blog that's not limited to Dyers, called Rooting For Ancestors.
ReplyDeleteI see that you have Hutchinson and Gardiner names, which means I need to hook you up with my good friend (and fellow author) Jo Ann Butler, a descendant of Herodias Long Gardiner. She's published the first of three books on Herodias, called Rebel Puritan.
For you AND your history/genealogy-loving friends and relatives, I have another resource to offer: I created a Facebook personal profile for Mary Barrett Dyer, and write it as if it's Mary speaking. (Apparently, there are internet and Facebook in heaven.) There's a Facebook group for descendants of Anne Marbury Hutchinson. Go to the 17th-century links list on my Dyer website to find those connections. I'll look for your friend request and approve you. :)
Thanks Christy!
